silverhoejd with axel e is a tasteful result of what can happen when a 16-year-old producer from a swedish small town manages to settle within the colossal edm genre. he has created music that hundreds of thousands of people dance themselves sweaty when axwell/ingrosso, martin garrix and others put it in their usb and in front of recurring times at the world s largest festivals. but living in a city that has been colored by decades of more experimental underground scenes and especially in recent years a very strong ambient scene puts their footprints even in a young producers music creation. silverhöjd is a profound melodic houseware that is mixed by as much imaginative ambient. on the single we hear two versions, one more dedicated dance floor and the other more adapted for quieter moments.

this is a reissue of a short-lived and obscure uk dance music label. a compilation of tracks featured on releases across 3 ep�s between 1991 and 1993 incorporating recently emergent dub techno and progressive acid house sounds. nation of noise was conceived in the early 90 s, following a meeting of minds between the producer and ambient soho mainstay django, and vocalist jon martin (of pizzaman fame) at the legendary soho institution: the brain. plate 1 is a fully remastered reissue of the first nation of noise record - xes noiz, featuring 4 locked grooves. plate 2 takes two tracks off both the lockgroove and super bubble ep s. one side is smooth, after-hours deep house whilst the other reaches for two progressive, acid cuts. fully remastered.

heat in two belgian flavors! check out the zaïrian electronic dance floor banger �nakombe nga� by les choc stars. comes with the dope, largely unheard belgium new beat version on the flip from the teknokrat s. both tracks were originally released in 1989 and this is the first time they appear together on 12-. reissue co-curated with renowned record fiend john gomez. the music on this winning double-sider was written by tony baron and gery françois, two belgian producers that were involved in several musical projects on the new beat scene in the 1980s. they worked under many aliases and recorded the teknokrat�s haunting �what did she say?� at the famous studio madeleine in brussels in 1989. prompted by jean martin from espera records, baron adapted the music into a further two songs to be released that year, virginity�s melancholic �the key�, and the surprising but ear catching collaboration with the label�s soukous stars, ben nyamabos les choc stars du zaire. it is still a mystery how the seeds were planted for the one-off pairing that culminated in the electronic soukous bomb �nakombe nga�. what is certain is that it is set to light up dancefloors worldwide.

kim rapatti a.k.a mono junk presents the second volume of finnish electro all-star on his dum records imprint � active since 1992. the new release is the latest chapter of mono junk collaborating with friends, recently with mesak and freestyle man. the a-side of finnish electro all-star (dum-040) features collaborations with top finnish electro duo morphology, who recently released an outstanding album on firescope label. electro por favor is a pulsating driving electro track with a killer bassline and vocals by rapatti � electro at its best. raw, apocalyptic, solitary remix by mono junk follows the original. the b-side features collaborations between mono junk and a very special guest: goner a.k.a. martin maischen, who is known from many hot releases as the other half of german electro act sandbenders. they were at most active around the millennium and made releases for force inc. music works and science city. the two included tracks are deep electroid techno excursions made last year in berlin � very cool stuff.

when i first stumbled across mix tapes out of hamburgs seminal front club (with klaus stockhausen and boris dlugosch at the helm) during the glorious and carefree early days of the popularized internet, there were certain tracks on them that struck a chord. in fact there was one specifically, i couldnt stop listening to. the mixture of an infectious bass line, a super sharp snare, music and harmony vocal snippets, happy claps and synths lines that evoked pictures of a convertible going down a coastline, and - to top it all off - a tribal chant, was irresistible. after some intensive track-id-hunting pre-shazam, i found out that the heaven-sent hymn was music by an act called syncbeat. originally released in 1984 during the craze that was called uk electro via street sounds resp. streetwave and later licensed to german omnivore zyx records. a joint venture between the electro-funk mastermind,dj pioneer and edit maestro greg wilson as well as manchester musicians martin jackson & andy connell, it is exactly that type of dance track that eludes any classification - as you can see from my description above. or to cite greg wilson himself from one of his essays on the subject of uk electro: the track that received the best response was music by syncbeat, which was full of good vibes and could have easily been re-vamped down the line as a house track.

girls of the internets deep-house-dub-techno-afro ballad: when u go is now being pressed up to vinyl on ramp recordings. since its release, when u go has been burning up some of the more discerning dancefloors worldwide, with club support from djs as diverse as mark farina, stacey pullen, eli escobar, oliver $, françois k, soul clap, roger sanchez, carl craig, booker t, serverino, riva star, doc martin, karizma, marco carola, tensnake & mousse t. peckhams finest pervayers of deep house, bradley zero approved duo fyi chris, turn in an exclusive dubby west coast-vibed remix of the track available only on this vinyl. the b side is a brand new track from girls of the internet - running featuring nattlie maddix, of the house gospel choir. mixing live instruments with synths and drum machines, running is a soulful yet driving disco tinged deep house track. to finish off this massive package, local actions finn delivers a genre-straddling remix of running.

echodroides is a collaboration between chicago natives frank de la mora & miguel martin. their sound can be described as a trip through space with analog synthesizers and drum machines. they came together in 2011 first working on remixes then shortly after decided to work on original material. their music has been featured in tv shows, movies, promotional videos from peugeot, fashion labels and the ubisoft video game, watch dogs. for this special and limited release they re-created a track from 80s us studio project, experimental products, - paying tribute to -glowing in the dark- original and an instrumental. (words from the artists) experimental products has always been a massive influence on us from the very 1st time we heard them back in the 80s. glowing in the dark, in particular changed everything for us. mark wilde and michael gross were way ahead of their time. we wanted to pay tribute to them by re-creating this song from scratch.

after being one of the many standouts on the we are opilec�! vol. iii compilation back in 2016, i-robots glamouflage is now getting a full vinyl release with artwork by tomozo kevorkian, who was designer for nyc s body & soul, and remixes by a standout team of producers from japan to switzerland to south africa and the usa. opening up the ep is a fantastic new take ii version from label boss i-robots, who added exclusive chinese vocal samples recorded on the streets of huang jiang city many years ago. the track is inspired by ennio morricone and supermax and is a loose and infectious groove with brilliant drums and percussion and an elastic bassline that really gets you moving. it s a subtle update to the original�also included here as a bonus cut�which itself is a steamy and tropical sounding groove. swiss electronic pioneer schaltkreis wassermann then features on a version of the original that reaches for the cosmos with its rugged bass riffs, tumbling toms and busy, ever evolving groove. it has a big breakdown with exotic synths wandering through the night and oodles of effects and big guitar licks. the first of the remixes comes from kuniyuki takahashi who has been a big supporter of i-robots since 2000. he is a sound designer from japan who had a compilation of his works put out by music from memory back in february. his version is laden with cosmic synths and chants, grunting and organic drums and is sure to be massive this summer thanks to its open air vibes. detroit s underrated but vital gary martin is the boss of the teknotika label and his version featuring colten decker playing an unusual sax line shows another side to the motor city. it s a curious and mysterious tune that makes for an unsettling atmosphere that keeps you locked throughout as it snakes along.

the next release on crosstown rebels sees made by pete come together once again with vocalist jem cooke. returning to damian lazarus� impressive imprint, made by pete invites diynamic label boss solomun and gruuv founders audiojack to take on remix duties. the original cut of so long opens up the ep. you are at once immersed in its trance-inducing elements, intensified by cooke�s powerfully sensual vocals. solomun shapes the title track into a grittier, industrial version whilst audiojack�s leans on the more percussive side, with ambient sounds and a prominent vocal hook. closing the ep is modify saturn, a track graced by tribal drums that beckon you to succumb to the groove. made by pete has been carving a name for himself in the dance music scene over the past thirteen years. he�s had releases on respected labels such as dftd, crosstown rebels and kerri chandler�s madtech records. his music has been supported by some of the scene�s most respected taste-makers from pete tong to joris voorn and eats everything to groove armada. jem cooke has lent her stunning vocal talent to some major musical players including cher, zero 7, kate simko, martin garrix and hot since 82.

seriously dope 4 track disco edits ep. first up is jaz. the south carolina native is at the top of the disco edits game, with records out on universal cave, rotating souls, and passport to paradise. �the end�� is a 90bpm monster. easily suited for lovers of balearic, one of those rare slow tracks that can really rock a dance floor. the patchouli brothers are up and comers from toronto, with a 12� on basic fingers, �cheat, lie, kill, die�� is a mid tempo stomper. a versatile track easily blended with disco or house, and a hook so catchy, crowds are singing along before the end of the track. will martin opens up the b-side with pure fire. �rock me again� is the transformation of a 2 minute james brown production into 7 and a half minutes of dance floor ecstasy. martin is known for lo-fi house, with releases on 2mr, dolly, argot, and supply records. studebaker hawk closes us out with the b-boy jam, �say africa�. breaks for days, and even a heavy guitar solo. this track is for lovers of deep disco, classic hip hop, and afrobeat. limited run so don t sleep on this one!

love circle returns for a second release, digging deep into the misty past of golden era disco and finding rare gold for the reissue market to rejoice at. this time it s the work of barry blue and two projects he produced in the early 80s, lovingly re-edited for maximum dancefloor pleasure by velvet season & the hearts of gold (aka gerry rooney and joel martin). first up is surefire party starter breakin in by javaroo, and on the flip its low down seduction workout love the way you love me by marti cane getting a fresh airing for all vintage-minded dancers and djs.

opilec music s eclectic remix series rolls on with another essential package, this time tackling a single from label boss i-robots s law of robotics album back in 2008. adding their own spin to things are red axes and hiroshi watanabe aka kaito after likes of kuniyuki takahashi, djembe monks, danny ocean, los hermanos, gary martin, alexander robotnick, daniele baldelli & marco dionigi have all stepped up previously. isreali duo red axes go first, a pair known for mixing up synths and guitars in exciting new ways on labels like hivern discs, i m a cliche and esp institute amongst others. their excellent version of the track re-works it as a deep and spine tingling house cut. moody chords lull you into a hypnotic and zoned out groove that is finished with some intoxicating spoken words. hiroshi watanabe aka kaito is next, an acclaimed kompakt and transmat artist who makes succulent techno with ambient atmospheres. his brilliant version here is just that, with cosmic chords and slippery rubber beats carrying you away into the night. warm and inviting, it elevates you to the next level over its long length, it is a classy bit of techno that also comes as a stripped back instrumental version.

a producer, dj, nts radio host and label head, finn has come of age representing manchesters underground dance music scene over the last four years. showing up with a timely debut for defected that will stop you in your tracks, hes now turning heads way further afield from the north west. this 7inch features an exclusive instrumental. the formula for sometimes the going gets a little tough is beautifully simple, exposing an intuition beyond the producers years. at 135bpm its a straight pumper in theory, playing directly into the hands of festival sets over the summer, with its vocal loop and heartfelt lyrics it becomes so much more. gathering over 2m spotify streams on its initial release via tom leas london imprint local action, the track also received radio support from the likes of annie mac, skream and monki and support from djs as diverse as tqd, diplo and martin garrix. the appeal is universal and the execution is perfect, making this the kind of life affirming record that 2018 needs.

after strong releases by jerome sydenham, guti, martin buttrich and the esteemed label leaders the martinez brothers, here we have remixes of stec and chris martinez own out put by first team players. mathew johnson gives us an energetic analogue workout. peggy gou gives us a wistful version of �h2 da izzo� with retro drums, lush strings to give us a straight up, classic house cut. this is also tackled by mayaan nidim who gives us a stripped back, refined take as you would expect from a perlon artist. dj deeon takes on the buoyant �stuff in the trunk� with miss kittin�s playful vocals.
